Omakultuuriakadeemia (Own Culture Academy) is a series of lectures held throughout the study year in Viljandi. These meetings happen twice a month on Tuesday. The series start in September and end in May.

The lectures introduce and develop Estonian culture focusing on the people and their relations with the surrounding environment within the culture field. The aim of these lectures are to propitiate local idendities and sustainable practice development that are currently functioning.

Since its start, Omakultuuriakadeemia has presented many lecturers, culture carriers, professors, musicians etc in the variety of topics. Each year a new topic is presented:

2007/2008 OMAILM (oma - own, ours, ilm - world)
2008/2009 OMA KEEL (keel - language)
2009/2010 TEISITI (OTHERWISE)
2010/2011 KULTUUR JA KEHA (CULTURE and BODY)
2011/2012 ARGIAKADEEMIA (argi - common, casual, everyday, akadeemia - academy)
